Matthew 14:28-30(KJV); And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
STEP OUT OF THE BOAT
I Some Christians express their faith but only while they are in the boat. They can believe when there is some kind of cushion or fallback position. They have faith in God only because they also have an insurance policy; a job to depend on, relatives to rely on or a bank loan they may obtain if their original plans fail. Such people have carefully constructed contingency plans against ‘faith-disappointments.’ God cannot work mightily through men and women who believe in Him while in the comfort of their boats. He wants men like Peter in our theme scripture who will take that first step onto the water! Today, He is provoking you to live on the edges of faith. Your reliance should not be on the boats in your life. Your reliance should be solely on Him and His ability to get you out of a situation or to finish what He started. Get out of the boat and watch the Lord move on your behalf. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: My Loving Father, I thank You for this Word. Today, You have stirred great faith in me. I refuse to trust in the arm of flesh because it will surely fail me. I choose to look to You in all things because Your Word is sure and Your promise is steadfast, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
